Minorities in Pakistan and the (un)justice with them.

Yesterday I was reading ‘Pakistan’ Search feed on twitter and noticed there are few tweets that mentions that Muslim mobs burnt 100 Christian homes in Kasur district. They got my attention and I tried my best to confirm the news from some authenticated and credible source. Unfortunately uptil now no confirmation from a credible and trustworthy news agency. What makes this news item more suspicious is that there are no pictures/footages of the incident and yet people claim there are people on the scene. In this era of Faceboot, Twitter and twitpic when every other cell phone has a decent camera there are no pictures?

Few of the friends that were reporting this news item mentioned that the same type of incident happened back in April 2009 in Karachi. Yes it did happened and I remember we all condemned it and it was the main news story for like 2 days on our electronic and print media. The April incident was not that big as this suspicious incident of yesterday. In April incident people chalked the wall of the church and beated few Christians and destoryed few shops with sticks. There were shots fired in air too. But no homes were burnt and no shops were burnt. Where the yesterday news item claims that 100 homes are burnt that is something that can’t be neglected.

Now if in case this news item is true then should we as Muslim support it or protest against it? What Islam teaches us about people that belong to other religion. Islam clearly says that you shouldn’t hurt or kill someone until and unless you are in war with them or if they have attacked you and you have to kill them to save your life which in simple terms means that an individual killer can only justify and should be forgiven if and only if he has killed someone in self defence. If someone said something bad about our religion by any mean you can report it to the law enforcement agencies, because Pakistan being the Islamic state we  already have the law for this kind of situation.

So, if and only if the incident is true I support the arrests of all the people part of Mob and also the arrest of the Imam of Mosque who provoked other Muslims to do that voilent act against my country people. I think I shoud say it again clear and loud. I SUPPORT the arrest of all the people part of the Mob and also the arrest of the Imam of Mosque who provoked other Muslims to do that voilent act against my country people. They have no right to take law in their hands and do such extreem voilations.

Now let me share something about Mulims and how they differ from other and why we are religion of peace. First thing I would like to tell is if you want to judge a Mercedes then do not judge it by the expertise of its driver. So if someone calls himself Muslim and goest 5 times to Mosque and kill innocent people in the name of Islam does he truly represent Islam? No he don’t. You have to study your self about Islam to really understand Istalm, do not judge it by those mis-guided people who thinks that they are following Islam but actually they aren’t.

I am the Muslim and I have Christian Friend (who is sweeper and sweeps the road in front of my house), yes he is my friend I do spend time with him. I had a Hindu friend when I was in School and still remember him. I am friends only with many Christians, Hindus and Sikhs (probably some of them may be jews too).

Our Prophet has stricly forbidden us from destroying other people religous places and yet people attack churches in Muslim countries and unfortunately this has happened in Pakistan too, does that mean Islam is not peaceful religion? No, the followers of Islam didn’t follow the teachings and orders of Prophet as they should have. I do not remember anything from Muslims that makes fun of other people religions but such things agains Muslims can easily be found everywhere on the internet and real life. And even if I would have found something like that I would have stand against that. Many things that I wanted to say for quiet long has come out in this single post. Every Pakistani regardless of religion is Pakistani and has it rights as per the law. The post will not be complete if I don’t mention this link that I just found. Gurudwara Baba Ram Thaman ji at Kalu Khara Distt Kasur. Though there are surely many more things, but I have to take my attention from this news as I have to resume working. May be after writing this post I might be able to focus on work now.

By the way those exteremists not only attack churches and Christians if you count suicide attacks in Mosques in Pakistan the numbers will be much higher then those of Churches, so making the hype out of nothing is useless, baseless and everything less :P . I am not a good writer but I tried to express my feelings against the possible attack and/or the false news that is still uncofirmed from credible news sources.

Why I still think the news is false is because of the difference in number of homes that are burnt and families. Few sites mention use of petrol bombs to burn homes other mentions that only electric meters were destroyed. While other mentions there were loot of valuable goods too. Still controversial and un-confirmed and still without any footages.
